Waterfront cottage for a relaxing get-away vacation or place to stay while seeing the sights in Central Florida. Acorn cottage is on a canal, one block from the St. John’s River. Bring your boat for fishing or cruising the river. Close to Lake George and Silver Glenn Springs by water. Catch fish right off of the dock. Owner's yacht is normally tied to the boathouse end of the dock with 27 feet of room for a fishing boat or pleasure boat behind it at the dock. There is a charcoal grill on the deck for guests to use.

Besides fishing in the canal or on the river there is great fishing in Lake George, Lake Dexter and Lake Woodruff. You can see lots of wildlife, too, such as turtles, alligators, manatee, bald eagles, osprey, pelicans and turkeys to name a few. Many restaurants are available by water or land. Ocala National Forest also offers many outdoor activities. There are hiking trails, OHV trails, horse trails, hunting and/or bird watching. It is also a 45 minute ride to the beach or 1-1 1/2 hour drive to many of the attractions such as Cape Canaveral, Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and St. Augustine. The cottage has gorgeous outdoor deck& patio, grill ready for you! Bring Fido for free! This is not part of a house. The cottage is your own space, grill your catch, relax and soak up the sun. The cottage is in a quiet residential area within walking distance of the river and includes free use of the residents' boat ramp which leads onto beautiful Blue Creek (see photos). There you will encounter bald eagles, manatee, gators, ospreys, and more. Largemouth bass, crappie, bluegills, shellcrackers and catfish are the highlights. But redfish, snook, flounder, striped bass and warmouth are also present in the river and its lakes. If Kayaking is your thing, then nearby Juniper Springs Run is just gorgeous. The home has a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher. The fridge/freezer is small but guests staying longer than 6 nights can have access to a full-size fridge/freezer and laundry facilities on site. The sofa bed in the living room is suitable for two extra guests so the maximum is four which would include children. Only guests named on the booking are permitted to occupy. (If you are booking for TWO people please be aware that to keep our costs this low, we only supply linen for the full bed. If you intend to use both beds, we can supply extra linen for a small charge). Please note - we do not accommodate smokers at all. We strictly enforce no smoking both inside AND outside in the yard. We will charge a fee of $250 in the event of any person smoking. Pet policy: We do allow 1 small dog but no cats, sorry. Owners must pick up after their dog, keep their fur-baby off the furniture at all times and crate him/her when leaving unattended. This is because our furniture doubles as sleeping space. Unlike most places, we don't charge for your four-legged best friend; we find that most owners are respectful of our policy, so it would be unfair to charge everyone. But in the rare event that we do have to pick up after your dog or undertake deep cleaning, additional fees will be chargeable. TV and entertainment We have a large screen TV to watch the big game, dvd player and sound bar. In the master, there is an additional large tv with netflix and hulu. Cable is avail only on the main tv in the living room. The guest room has a small smart TV. Kitchen, bed and bath Fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need for service of 7. Bedrooms are supplied with linens and bathrooms are supplied with towels, soap and shampoo, conditioner and blow dryers. An iron and ironing board is also there in case it is needed. New appliances include microwave, dishwasher, stove, coffee bar, fridge with ice dispenser and oven. New granite counters and open floor plan make our kitchen wonderful for cooking and entertaining. Garage and laundry There is a laundry in the garage. The garage is not available to park your car, as we keep our car there. But there is plenty of parking in the driveway and front. There is a utility sink, new washer and dryer in the garage for your use. It is our vacation home, so we try to be sure it has everything needed—just bring your boat, golf clubs, food, clothes and positive vibe! We decorated the house with love and care, so we hope you will find peace and positive energy here. We have hotel quality linens and everything is very clean. Neighborhood Our neighbors are the best part of our house. Mostly retired, they get together for golf, pizza and sharing of good fishing. There are great walking partners, kayakers and friends!

Hiking , kayaking and swimming are some activities guests enjoy but be mindful that alligators and other animals do share the area. Horseback riding available in the Dunns Creek State Park. Small town with retired folks, snow birds and year round families live in this community. If you don't want to experience the concrete Florida then this is your paradise. You will see farms and ranches mostly in this area. Golfers check out the nearby Oaks Golf Course. They also have a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer for your use. I wipe down remotes and door knobs with disinfecting wipes. Bedding washed between guest stay. There is a 3 day block between guests to allow time for proper cleaning and disinfecting. Please bring your own sanitizers and masks to reduce the risk of contracting the virus as well. Local restaurants are open at full capacity. Some offer delivery.

The property is in a small trailer park community, with unheard of crime and a quiet hour for the local pubs of midnight. The trailer can easily sleep 3-4 adults or a family. The single Bathtub is the limiting factor. The Large Florida room makes a great gathering area with screened in deck attached. A fenced in back yard, secure storage unit are also included. For the long Spring and Fall of the area, open the windows, Relax, and enjoy the breeze blow through the house.

It Currently operates as a 1/2-mile dirt oval and a 1/5-mile dirt oval for karts. Barberville Pioneer Settlement : 10 minutes They have great festivals and it is really enjoyable and educational to relive the daily life of our early pioneers. Many different structures have been relocated to this site which was once a school. Very much worth your time. Visit the site for hours and event schedule. St. Augustine : (1 hr) This historical town was founded by Pedro Menedez de Aviles in 1565, St. Augustine is a distinctive blend of Spanish colonial neighborhoods, opulent cathedrals, and turn of the century architecture. Very popular area for tourists and local residents alike. This is just to name a few. Daytona raceway, the Daytona boardwalk, Deland, Ormond beach all are close by about 30 minutes avg.
